
Description
UTILITY/PIPE FOREMAN – Knowledge must include but not be limited to trench excavation and the installation of waterline, storm drainage, sanitary sewer, DIG Safely, OSHA depth limits, location of existing underground utilities, means of access, test pits. Responsible for achieving passing tests on all installed utilities.
Supervises, trains and evaluates all members of the crew. Reinforces company policies, culture, values and work ethic to all employees. Develop short and long-range manpower, equipment and material requirements to meet project schedule and budget and discuss with Superintendent.
Conduct weekly toolbox meetings with crew. Ensure proper use by all project personnel of Personal Protection Equipment - hard hats, reflective vests, safety glasses, gloves, ear protection, work boots, lockout/tag out procedures.
Ensure safe equipment use and daily maintenance. Create daily Field Log reports with proper cost codes, contract item numbers, pay quantities, labor, equipment, and rental equipment reporting for your crew and any Subcontractors. Ensure that daily work is inspected by DOT/Owner/Inspector and recorded for payment.
Communicate routinely with Superintendent about current jobsite status. Inform Superintendent of any changed conditions or conflicts that affect the project. Understand and properly implement DOT specifications and procedures.
