
Description
A successful Environmental, Health & Safety Coordinator will effectively interface with internal and external customers, including Project Managers, Superintendents, Forepersons, Nurse Case Managers, Insurance Claim Adjusters, Subcontractors, Consultants, Regulators, and other members of our project teams. A qualified candidate must be able to comprehend and interpret various industry standards and regulations and possess strong problem solving and analytical skills. In addition, the candidate must be a self-starter with good communication skills, strong organizational skills, and be detail oriented with the ability to retain big picture thinking.
Specific safety and environmental coordination responsibilities include: Assisting the EHS Manager with coordination and administration of federal, state, and local regulatory compliance; Ensuring corporate safety policies and programs are current with OSHA and MSHA regulations and in-line with industry best management practices; Maintaining and ensuring compliance with company policies, OSHA, MSHA, NYSDOT, USEPA, and NYSDEC requirements; Investigation, preparation, submittal, and maintenance of insurance claims, reports, and incident tracking databases; Communicating (verbal and written) policies and compliance expectations; Coordinating injury and incident responses and follow up; Updating EHS procedures; Preparing and submitting clear and concise, solutions-based reports and updates to EHS Manager and other management teams; Coordinating and/or performing training programs in OSHA, driver safety, and other safety and environmental training topics for employees, management staff, and subcontractors; Utilizing Microsoft and B2W software to coordinate recordkeeping, incident tracking and data analytics; and, Assisting the EHS Manager and Management team to continuously improve the company safety culture through innovation, creativity, and relationship-building with all stakeholders.
